About The Department
The Department of Chemistry is one of the oldest departments of Government college Chittur and B.Sc. Course in Chemistry was started in 1957. A large number of students who have passed out from the Department during the last 60 years with flying colours and have served and continue to serve the society in various fields are the real asset of the department.
More than 25 eminent faculty members have served the department since its inception. The department undertakes seminars, conferences, workshops, student internships and exchange programmes for the benefit of the students. Special attention is given to weaker students by providing remedial coaching and also the department is actively engaging in consultancy services such as water quality parameter analysis. The department also provide hands on training for the final year BSc chemistry students on sanitizer making, soap and toilet cleaner making.
