About The Department

The Department of Computer Science  was established in the year 1999 under the jurisdiction of University of Calicut in Palakkad district, as one of the Complementary Subjects of B.Sc. Electronics Course. The prime intention of the department is to impart quality education to students in the field of Computer Science. The department strives to inspire every student to attain their peak performance. Department presently has only one permanent faculty.

Course being offered

At present department is offering computer science papers as complementary
course to students enrolled for BSc.Electronics course. The courses that is being offered gives emphasize to the fundamental concepts of Computer Science,Programming Concepts,Web designing using HTML and RDBMS language MySql. This will help the students to grasp the subject from its very root level and to think conceptually; such that they can adapt themselves to the developments occurring in this dynamic field.

Computer Lab

As a part the course that is being offered ,the college has a well established Centralized computer lab with state-of-the-art infrastructure that caters to the academic needs of the students. The lab is equipped with 20 computer system and an uninterrupted power back up of 6KVA. All the necessary software pertaining to the academic curriculum has been installed on all computers. The lab is being upgraded from time to time to provide the best of the facilities to our students. The practical sessions has been designed in such a way that it helps in developing the programming skills of the students.

Career options available

Thus the syllabus has been set in such a way that it aids the student in preparing themselves for pursuing their post-graduation or their career in the fascinating world of computers..Interested Students can do their Post graduation in Msc Computer Science or MCA.  Computer Science opens up a multitude of career options with great income potential within both the public and private sectors and also in the Govt Sector
