Goals And Objectives Of The Department

The main objective of the department is to impart value-oriented teaching programme in philosophy which is a necessity. A General awareness of the subject has become the need of the time. It is one of the main objectives of the department to impart philosophy as an urgent need of the social set up. Philosophy has been recognised as a basic discipline throughout the world. In the modern era though the thrust given to humanities is less, the importance of philosophy as a basic discipline has become more recognised. Students are showing much interest in the subject, though the opportunity they get to be acquainted with the subject is very less. A philosophical approach has become the need of modern society especially in the context of globalisation and dehumanisation. The vision of ecophilosophy and environmental ethics gives optimistic hope of life for the future generation. The yoga system changes the lifestyle in to eco-friendly and develop an altruistic attitude towards the environment.
